Özgehan Şenyuva works at the intersection of European politics, youth engagement, and the civic structures that hold democracies together. He was principal investigator of the EU FP7 project FREE (Football Research in an Enlarged Europe) and a core researcher on the Horizon 2020 FEUTURE project on EU-Turkey relations. What makes him essential for this keynote is over 20 years of hands-on work as a youth worker and trainer within the Erasmus+ ecosystem, the European Voluntary Service, and non-formal education. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the European Academy on Youth Work (EAYW) and a principal researcher on its Futures of Youth Work project. He has authored and edited publications for the Council of Europe on youth work, educational evaluation, and professional development.
He understands European values not as treaty-text, but as practice – tested every day in training rooms, in youth exchanges, in the messy human work of building civic capacity across borders.
